Disaster Relief

The Community Foundation for Monterey County has activated the Monterey County Fire Relief Fund in response to the 2026 Timber Fire in Big Sur.

Community Foundations are able to act as philanthropic “first responders” and work with our community partners to deploy resources where they are needed most. There are three “Rs” to disasters: Relief, Recover, Rebuild. Financial assistance provides the most flexibility for short term and longer-term efforts. We are quickly able to support groups providing direct assistance and ensure 100% of funds are used for the intended purpose.
