This Center for Nonprofit Excellence Workshop is for people who have recently joined a board or are considering serving on one.

Thursday, January 30, 2020
5:30 – 7:30 PM, Light supper included
$30 per organization (bring a team of 1-3), some scholarships available.
Free for those who attended 2019 Board Connect Reception as new/prospective board members.
Attend to gain a better understanding of what is involved in the commitment to serve on a nonprofit board. Hear from a panel of local leaders and increase your confidence and readiness to be an effective, engaged board member.
The follow scholarship types are available:
- ACTION Council scholarships are offered to organizations supporting children & families who are at-risk, marginalized, or low-income
- First 5 Funded Partners
About the facilitator:
Vance Yoshida has an MBA with a focus in finance and marketing from UCLA. He brings experience consulting with nonprofits in the Bay Area and in Salinas with the Packard Youth Initiative. Inspired by his father’s service, he has served as a board leader with many nonprofits, including Asian Health Services, California Flower Market, and more.
