Big Sur Disaster Relief Fund
Heavy winter rains caused a major slip-out on Highway 1 on March 30, 2024 south of The Rocky Creek Bridge in Big Sur in Monterey County, CA. The damaged road connecting Big Sur to points north resulted in temporary closure, convoys and limited access through May 27, 2024. Slides south of Big Sur have already limited access from points south since January 2023. Many businesses were temporarily closed and limited access caused tremendous hardship for Big Sur residents, employees and their families.
Thank you, to all those who attended and donated to the Fundraiser for Big Sur on May 7, 2024 at La Playa Hotel to uplift the Big Sur community. All proceeds of more than $112,000 were granted to Community Association of Big Sur (CABS) to benefit those affected by the Highway closure.
