SMCF Founding Family Members Gather in King City

The Southern Monterey County Foundation (SMCF), an affiliate of the Community Foundation, was formed by an advisory board of local residents. It serves King City and communities south to the Monterey county line. The advisory board has a deep understanding of local needs. In 2014, its first year, the SMCF granted $27,500 to eleven nonprofit organizations.

The SMCF is seeking partners to provide annual grants and asking community members to become part of the Founding Family. With a commitment of $5,000 (may be spread over five years), Founding Family members help the SMCF make a difference now and for future generations. There are currently 19 Founding Family members, made up of individuals and companies.

The next SMCF grant deadline is September 18, 2015. To apply or become a Founding Family member, visit www.cfmco.org/smcf. For more information, please contact Brian Thayer at 831.375.9712 x144.
