$300,000 COVID-19 Relief Fund Matching Gift from Posey Family Foundation

Monterey County, California — COVID-19 has had an unprecedented impact on the lives of Monterey County residents. The Posey Family Foundation made a generous matching grant of $300,000 to the COVID-19 Relief Fund of the Community Foundation for Monterey County (CFMC) to inspire donors to continue to support pandemic relief.

Since launching March 16, 2020, COVID-19 Relief Fund has provided more than $3.1 million in critical funding for food, housing, mental health and program support to nonprofits serving Monterey County residents in need. Though support to date has made an important difference, benefits have diminished, eviction protections are projected to end, and uncertainty continues for people facing hardship during the pandemic. The need for resources for local nonprofits serving our community remains stronger than ever.

We’re immensely grateful to the Posey Family Foundation, donors and funders who have stepped up to support our community. We hope this inspires others to give so we can help meet the growing need.”- Dan Baldwin. CFMC President/CEO
