Legacy Society Luncheon Celebrates Impact

Legacy Society GroupMore than 150 guests attended the annual Legacy Society Luncheon on February 24 at the Monterey Plaza Hotel. President/CEO, Dan Baldwin gave a first glimpse into last year’s asset growth and record grantmaking. He emphasized that the foundation’s impact is only made possible thanks to those who have chosen the CFMC as their philanthropic partner.

Guest speaker Reverend Michael Reid spoke of the plight of homeless women in Monterey County. To address the need, he co-created the Fund for Homeless Women, a field of interest fund at the CFMC. As a result of strong community support, the CFMC made grants of $194,500 from the fund in 2014. Michael has retired as pastor to help grow the fund, and has included it in his own estate plans. He described how the fund continues his grandmother’s legacy of giving individuals a hand up and paying their own good fortune forward. If you are thinking about including the CFMC in your estate plans and would like to become a Legacy Society Member, please call Dan Baldwin or Christine Dawson at 831.375.9712. If you’ve already made this important decision, please let us know so we may recognize your generous support.
