The Community Foundation for Monterey County’s 75^th Anniversary celebration was cancelled  once it became clear that in person events should not take place for the safety of our friends and supporters.

Instead we asked current and past board members, grantees and community members to reflect on the impact of the Community Foundation over the years. We asked them to describe the foundation in one word or phrase. “Relevant,” “Community Cornerstone,” “Partner,” “Lifesaving,” “Powerful,” and “Visionary Leader,” “Hope” and “Force for Change” aresome of the responses.

In the midst of the challenges of 2020, the CFMC will surpass $20 million granted this year, including more than $3.5 million from its COVID-19 and Monterey County Fire Relief Funds.

We are filled with gratitude for all the people who have led the CFMC as well as the donors, foundations, and nonprofit partners who have helped create more “healthy, safe vibrant communities.”

We look forward to gathering in person again.
