The Morse Foundation Scholarship Fund

The Monterey Peninsula Country Club recently established The Morse Foundation to provide scholarships to employees and their family members to promote learning and enhance the quality of life for employees. During its first round of scholarships the Foundation’s Board selected four students to receive scholarships of $5,000 each.

  • Anna Lucido is a graduate of CSU San Francisco and is currently pursuing a law degree at the University of the Pacific and plans on practicing family law with an emphasis on mediation.
  • Michelle Bernier is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from CSU Sonoma and plans to enter an accelerated program to become a registered nurse. Her ultimate goal is to become a nurse practitioner.
  • Jeelene Luna Jimenez will be attending CSU Monterey Bay in the fall and is interested in majoring in Biology with the goal of earning a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and becoming a pharmaceutical scientist.
  • Uriel Jacuinde is pursuing a Master’s degree in Student Affairs and College Counseling from CSU Fresno with the goal of returning to work at Hartnell College and helping underrepresented students navigate college.

Our philanthropic services staff worked with members of The Morse Foundation’s Board of Directors to design the scholarship program, including developing guidelines, criteria, application forms, and reviewing and selecting recipients. The Morse Foundation also established a stewardship fund to manage the investment of the foundation’s funds for growth over time while making them available for awarding scholarships and addressing other unmet needs.
