Tobi Marcus, Director of Resource Development

As Director of Resource Development, Tobi is responsible for the leadership and strategic direction for the Resource Development team to further the engagement of current and prospective fund holders to help them achieve their philanthropic vision.

She was the Director of the Women’s Fund, a field of interest fund of the Community Foundation from 2007 through July, 2010. Prior to that, Tobi worked as a strategy consultant to a variety of non-profit organizations throughout Monterey County. She also worked for the Boston Consulting Group, an international strategic planning firm serving Fortune 500 clients.
 
Tobi earned a Master’s Degree from the London School of Economics and a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Bristol (U.K.). Her research focused on equal opportunities policy in the British financial sector.

She has served in a number of leadership roles in the nonprofit sector as a board member and volunteer. She has received recognition for her contributions including being named Volunteer of the Year by the Junior League of Monterey County.  In her free time, Tobi enjoys hiking, knitting and traveling with her family.
