Ann Brown was born in Houston, TX and grew up in Garden Grove in Orange County, CA graduating from Garden Grove High School in and California State University, Long Beach. She and her husband Jay owned a Medical Instrumentation manufacturing company where she worked in a variety of positions including assembly, purchasing, accounts receivable and personnel from 1979 to 1996 when they both retired and moved to South Monterey County on a cattle ranch that borders San Luis Obispo County.
She has since become involved in community and county organizations. Close to home she serves as membership and schedule chair for Hesperia Hall and Hesperia Hall Foundation which provides a center for community meetings, education and scholarships for local students. The Monterey County Cattlewomen's Association is also part of her priorities where she serves as secretary.
