Women's Fund Endowment

"The power of the Women's Fund endowment is that the commitment you make today will impact the lives of women and girls forever."
Daniel R. Baldwin, President/CEO

Why endowment?

Girls_Health_Girls While the specific grant priorities will evolve over time, the need to support change for women and girls will remain critical in the decades to come. The Women’s Fund of Monterey County made a fundamental shift in 2011 - from an annual fundraising model to an endowment building focus. A percentage of an endowed fund's value is available to grant each year, while the principal remains intact and is invested to grow over time. This new approach will allow the Women’s Fund to grow its base of permanent assets and ensure funding for women and girls in perpetuity.

The objective of this initial endowment building campaign is to raise $1.5 million in contributions which will enable the Women’s Fund to make $75,000 in grants every year.  Over $250,000 has been pledged to date. Over the next three years, we will invite contributions towards this initial goal as well as pledges of support through planned gifts.
