Frequently Asked Questions

How do I attend a workshop or event for free?
Look for occasional free MAP workshops. There are several groups who may be eligible to attend fee-based events under full scholarship but they must register.

  • First 5 Funded Partners can send up to four staff members for workshops $100 or less.
  • Pathways to Safety Organizations (up to three participants per workshop).
  • Communities Advancing the Arts grantees (up to three participants per workshop).
  • Community Leadership Project grantees (up to three participants per workshop).
  • LEAD participants for workshops related to their LEAD goals.

I want to pay by check. Do I still need to register online?
Yes. Follow the typical online registration procedure and then mail your check to Community Foundation for Monterey County: 2354 Garden Rd, Monterey 93940.

Do you accept cash payments?
No.

How do I request an accommodation such as a sign language interpreter or large print materials?
All listed workshops are wheelchair accessible. For any person with a disability requiring any modifications or accommodations to participate in a workshop, please indicate your request when you register. Please request these services a minimum of 2 weeks before the workshop. If you have questions, contact the Community Foundation at 831.375.9712.

Will I receive a confirmation?
Yes. All confirmations arrive via email.

How do I cancel a registration once I have paid?
Notice of cancellation must be received in writing (email or fax) by the Community Foundation at least two full working days prior to the workshop. If you choose to cancel a workshop registration you will receive a credit* or a refund minus a $15 processing fee. No refunds or credits will be made for cancellations fewer than two full working days under any circumstances.
*Credit: A workshop credit will be worth up to the original fee(s) paid and must be used within eight months from the date it was issued.

Does the Community Foundation ever cancel workshops? If so, would I get my money back?
The Community Foundation has occasionally cancelled a workshop, usually due to lack of sufficient registrations. In case of cancellation, registrants will receive a full refund. We reserve the right to substitute workshop presenters when necessary.
