The Doud Fund for Historic Preservation in the City of Monterey

Background: The Thomas Doud, Sr. and Anita M. Doud Fund I was established by Kathleen Doud Chase in her will to preserve, protect, and interpret the history, art, architecture and culture of the City of Monterey
Eligibility: Grants from the Doud Fund are available for the preservation of art, history, architecture, and culture within the City of Monterey.
Before you apply:
- Doud Fund applicants should relate the projects or programs for which they are requesting funding to the Community Foundation's Historic Preservation Grant Guidelines.
- Recent Doud grants may be found at Doud Recent Grants.
- Please contact the Community Foundation to discuss your proposal before submitting an application: Director of Grants and Donor Advisor Services or 831.375.9712 x111.
Pre-Application: The application process involves the email submission of a required Historic Preservation Pre-Application Form which may result in an invitation to make a presentation to the Committee. The deadline for Pre-applications is April 1 each year at 5:00 p.m. to: Grants Administrator.
Presentation: If the pre-application is accepted, you will be invited to present your proposal to the Committee in May.
Application: Full applications using the Common Grant Application and Impact Plan will be due no later than July 15 for those invited to apply following a successful presentation of their proposals to the Committee. Instructions are included in the forms.
Funding: For approved applications, funding occurs in early November.
Evaluation: An Impact Report is due within one year of the grant.
