Giving Options

Some donors are interested in setting up funds or donating to the Community Foundation's existing funds right away, while others are interested in including us in their estate planning.
There are various options of giving, including Outright (or lifetime) Gifts and Planned Gifts. Especially in the case of Charitable Remainder Gifts, we strongly recommend the use of professional counsel in structuring, drafting, and reviewing all the tax implications for such charitable giving plans.

Many people become donors by leaving part of their estate to the Community Foundation through a bequest that the donor planned with the help of their professional advisor. We appreciate being informed of such planned gifts, and we honor such donors by including them in all listings of our Legacy Society.

If you are considering the creation of a private foundation, we strongly encourage you to explore the advantages a community foundation can offer. Please view this resource on Comparing Charitable Giving Options

Information about our investment and payout policies and our fee structure can be found in the Donor Resources section.
