The Mission of the Community Foundation for Monterey County – We improve the quality of life in Monterey County by raising, managing, and distributing charitable funds to qualified organizations and by creating positive connections between donors and their interests – is possible only because of the generosity of our donors. Every donor and every fund is unique and each one is a valued member of the Community Foundation’s family of giving.

Drawn to the Idea of Permanency

Kayrl and Stephen at the Golden BoughPacific Repertory Theatre, a professional company entertaining audiences for 26 years, is currently rennovating thier historic site.  The board was interested in permanent funding and came to the Community Foundation for advice. The Legacy of a Scholarship

Sam Kier and Lou GodfreySam Kier and Lou Godfrey, with their siblings, grew up in a family enriched by a dedication to education and all the arts. They wanted to pass this gift to future generations, but found no easy way of doing so until they contacted the Community Foundation.

A Model of an Engaged Donor

Konny Murray and Tobi MarcusKonny Murray is an activist in Women's Rights and Animal Welfare and is passionate about women having the same opportunity for success as others. She supports the Women's Fund in its efforts to provide women with seed money for business and to offer health initiatives that help women make informed health decisions.
