Brief, confidential consultations in English and/or Spanish are available for free with Management Assistance staff. Contact the Director of Organizational and Leadership Development, Kaki Rusmore,  at 831.375.9712.  Typical consulting topics include:

  • Analysis of situations occurring in organizations 
  • Brainstorming opportunities and resources
  • Reviewing information and tools to develop effective management practices
  • Discussing collaborative approaches with related organizations
  • Referring organizations to consultants and other professionals, as appropriate

Alumni of the top business schools including Stanford, Yale and Harvard offer pro-bono management consulting services to two or three local nonprofits annually. Services include functional support in areas such as business plan review, budget analysis with peer comparisons, and more.

Organizations needing assistance with long-term projects are referred to other consultants in the area. Contact the MAP Program Associate or call 831.375.9712 x 138 to request a consultant in your topic area from our Consultant Database. Organizational Development Grants can cover a portion of cost of an organization’s consulting service activities to build organizational capacity.

Grant Proposal Writing Interns from Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS) and California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB) develop draft proposals with local nonprofits. Proposal Writing Intern Request Forms are due in January and sometimes in late summer for fall semester.
