About the Board Roundtable:
There are lots of online resources to turn to with questions about strengthening your nonprofit board and leadership: BoardSource is a great one; CNE’s Board Transformation Toolkits offer material on 13 core topics boards must address; and Grantspace by Candid is also a wealth of knowledge.
But CNE’s Board Roundtable is a place you can meet in person to build your network with other local nonprofit board members and gain insights and look at challenges together in new ways. The Board Roundtable is a facilitated group for board officers who seek to
- Have a confidential opportunity to explore learning topics, with an emphasis on moving issues forward
- Develop supportive relationships with peers
- Increase effectiveness as board leaders, and
- Increase ability to engage effectively with their Executive Director.
About the facilitator:
Vanessa Lopez-Littleton, PhD, RN is Assistant Professor of Health, Human Services and Public Policy Department at California State University, Monterey Bay. She brings a strong commitment to community service, has served on boards and as an Executive Director, and has led board trainings on a variety of topics. As a capstone advisor for students, she has provided technical assistance to numerous local nonprofits. And also developed a student module for understanding the role and implications of social equity in the public sector.
