Grantseekers and nonprofit organizations in Monterey County have access to a valuable new collection of resources at the nonprofit resource library of the Community Foundation For Monterey County: a Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center.  Established in 1956, the Foundation Center is the nation’s leading authority on organized philanthropy, serving grantseekers, grantmakers, researchers, policymakers, the media, and the general public.

Cooperating Collections provide tools for nonprofit organizations and those serving under-resourced and underserved populations to become successful grantseekers.

Our Nonprofit Resource Library offers free access to resources such as

• The Cooperating Collection’s detailed information on grantmakers and how to apply for grants
• Foundation Directory Online-a searchable database with profiles of more than 96,000 U.S. grantmakers and 1.4 million recently awarded grants.
• Print directories
• Proposal writing guides
• A trained Cooperating Collection supervisor

Reference materials of the Cooperating Collection enhance the current holdings at the Community Foundation which include nonprofit-management and leadership books, articles and periodicals not available in other locations in the county.
